County assessor now taking apps for exemption

Due to Covid-19, the Kay County Assessor will no longer be going to each city to collect exemptions and assessment papers. This is to continue to keep residents safe and healthy. All applications and personal property renditions are due March 15, 2022. Below is a brief description of each application and information regarding personal property. All applications and assessments will be accepted in the Kay County Assessor’s office from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

Bluepeak to bring faster, more reliable internet to Tonkawa

Bluepeak, an innovative internet provider, announced today that it is coming to Tonkawa, Oklahoma, and will break ground this summer on a high-speed fiber network to meet the growing needs of the community, today and in the future. The $2.5 Million expansion effort will bring Bluepeak service to nearly 1,500 residences and businesses in Tonkawa.

City takes applications for ward 4 council seat

Councilman Scott Klufa recently moved outside of the City Limits of Tonkawa and can no longer serve on the City Council. Scott represented Ward 4. Vacancies on the City Council are filled by an appointment by the four remaining City Councilmembers.
