Hey everyone! This weeks Bucs blab isn’t very packed as usual. The Buccaneers Basketball Teams went over to Blackwell last Friday and swept through the Maroons with a close game between the Lady Maroons and Lady Buccaneers. The 50+ students that were in the student section outnumbered the tough Maroon section almost double! This was the loudest basketball game we’ve seen for a long while. Then the boys swept through the Maroons and came home with some bruises, scrapes, and a bunch of smiles! Districts will start this week Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. @ Watonga! We’d love to see you supporting the Bucs! The Senior class raised over 8 thousand dollars for our Senior After Prom at the father-daughter dance, looks like everyone had an amazing time! We loved seeing all the beautiful princesses there! Thank you to all who helped!

The Tonkawa Alumni Association is requesting nominations for the 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award. The recipients will be honored during Homecoming weekend.

Jimmy Webb to appear at NOC Renfro March 8

Grammy award winning songwriter Jimmy Webb will be appearing at Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa on Tuesday, March 8 as part of the NOC Renfro Lectureship Series.

Valentines in the park

Thanks to 450 Tonkawa Elementary students that have created Valentines for the Heart In the Park fence. They are sending their greetings and valentine wishes for a Happy Day all month long. Also the Mid High Students have created Valentines that are being displayed in the Museum windows. This is a project between the Heart in the Park committee and the TES and MHS students. Be sure to notice them and thank the students and teachers for taking part in our community. Also be sure to notice in the Museum window the collection of recently found pictures of Presidents from George Washington to Dwight Eisenhower. This was found in the archives and was restored and is hanging in the window for all to view. (Irene Ackerson photo)
