The Tonkawa Fire Department responded to 21 ambulance calls transporting 13, and 1 fire calls during the past week. People who are planning on burning in our jurisdiction in the county please call the fire department at (580) 628-3251 and advise us where and when you are planning to burn to deter unnecessary call outs. Dr. Marsh Howard has been selected to lead the Northern Oklahoma College Stillwater campus as the new vice president for NOC Stillwater and grant development for the college and will assume his new duties June 5, 2023.

The new Administration Building is located next to the current Kay County Courthouse that is under remodel. You should not enter the Courthouse in any way and come straight to the Administration Building. We will have signs that will help guide you to our new facility. The annual Lucky Duck Derby sponsored by the Tonkawa High School Alumni Association, partnering with the Tonkawa Masonic Lodge, will be held on Monday, July 4th, immediately following the parade that starts at noon in downtown Tonkawa. The Derby will take place at the canal on West Grand Avenue just west of Treasures on Grand Avenue (previously the Christian Church).
