Make It Healthy

Whether you are eating low-carb, gluten-free or on a keto diet, these crock pot soup receipes I feature this week will make you wonder if you’re really on a “diet.”

I’ve tried a lot of soup rec-ipes in the last 18-months. Some were good, some not so good. The two I will feature this week are Low-Carb Taco Soup and Low-Carb Pizza Soup. They are two of my favorites. I usually make one of them a week because it makes so much I can eat the leftovers for lunch through-out the week.

The Stolhand Family, aka Lost Then Found, consists of Matthew, Corie, Mallory, Jaelyn and Caeden Stolhand. They will be appearing at 6:30 p.m. \Saturday, March 23, at the Ponca City Jubilee.

Matt is a lifelong resident of Ponca City and Newkirk. He began singing at an early age. Matt has performed at many churches in the area and also enjoys taking part in productions at the Ponca Playhouse. He has been married to his wife, Corie, for 21 years. They have 4 children and one granddaughter.

 

Court Appointed Special Advocates Spring training class to begin April 8

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Kay and Noble Counties is gearing up for spring trainings. CASA of Kay and Noble Counties provides trained volunteers to advocate for children who are victims of abuse and neglect. Children who are under the purview of the court due to abuse and neglect they have experiences. Trained Advocates are appointed by the court system to provide recommendations to the judge in the case providing an independent look at the needs of the child or children in a particular case.

I’ve learned a lot of things over the past 18 months while following a low-carb diet. The most important thing, however, is meal prep.

Before I started this way of life, I would walk into the grocery store and spend over an hour walking up and down the aisles trying to decide what sounded good for din-ner. I always ended up buy-ing the same things over and over again ... potatoes, pasta, frozen food and any pre-made meals I could find.
