The Tonkawa Fire Department responded to 23 ambulance calls transporting 14, and 6 fire calls during the past week. People who are planning on burning in our jurisdiction in the county please call the fire department at (580) 628-3251 and advise us where and when you are planning to burn to deter unnecessary call outs.

Season Finale Full Moon Concert will be Friday

The “Hayes Brothers Band” will take the stage for the season finale Full Moon Concert, Friday, September 29 in Tonkawa Centennial Park, 301 East Grand in Tonkawa. Returning by popular demand, the group performs music from the 1950s through today including well-known pop, rock and country classics that are audience favorites. Band members performing are Clark Hayes on guitar and lead vocal; Kent Hayes on drums and lead vocal; Keke Johnson on Hammond organ, guitar and vocal; Stan Villines on bass and backup vocal; Steve Scott on keyboards, synthesizers and vocal; Jace Sober on guitar and vocal.

Police Chief addresses threat to Tonkawa schools

Police Chief Nick Payne issued the following statement: On Wednesday, September 20, 2023, the Tonkawa Police Department became aware of an alleged threat targeting Tonkawa Public Schools. The Tonkawa Police Department wishes to update the community on the actions taken by our agency in response to this incident.
