Hello Buc Nation! Guess what week it is? Aside from my birthday week, the Kay County Free Fair is here. Though this takes place in Blackwell rather than Tonkawa, it is no secret that many students and other Tonkawa people will make an effort to participate in this annual event, if it be in the form of riding rides, showing livestock, volunteering at one of the dozens of stands, or any of the other numerous roles that people play in this yearly event.

The Tonkawa Fire Department responded to 10 ambulance calls transporting 9, and 6 fire calls during the past week. People who are planning on burning in our jurisdiction in the county please call the fire department at (580) 628-3251 and advise us where and when you are planning to burn to deter unnecessary call outs. The Top 20 Teachers of 2023-2024 will receive $5,000 each, and an additional $2,000 will be awarded to their schools.
