he Tonkawa Fire Department responded to 18 ambulance calls transporting 12, and 2 fire calls during the past week. Firefighters participated in Hazardous Materials training and Firefighter level 2 training this week. This training will allow TFD to better serve our citizens.

Joey Reinart is new assistant principal and athletic director

The Tonkawa Board of Education is filling a position that has been vacant since a reduction in force (RIF) in the spring of 2014. During the nine-year span, Principal Kyle Simpson has fulfilled the position of administrator and athletic director. Simpson announced his retirement in February with June 30 being his last day of duty.

Tonkawa Film Festival Quilt Display April 10-15, 2023

For the past several years, the Tonkawa Chamber of Commerce has sponsored the Tonkawa Film Festival. This festival showcases short independent films. The weekend is filled with activities, including a parade on Saturday, April 15.
