The IOOF Cemetery is in need of donations to continue operation of the cemetery, Garry Davis announced this week. Brent Bailey is caretaker. Donations can be sent to P.O. Box 121 with checks made to the Tonkawa Cemetery for upkeep.
Northern Oklahoma College alumni Jeff Medders will be inducted into the NOC Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame April 1 along with fellow inductees Willie Street and Dr. Jim Appleman.
For the past several years, the Tonkawa Chamber of Commerce has sponsored the Tonkawa Film Festival. This festival showcases short independent films. The weekend is filled with activities, including a parade on Saturday, April 15.
Bentley Wano, Tonkawa, was named an overall finalist in the 2023 American Farmers & Ranchers (AFR) Cooperative Poster Contest. More than 2,000 students competed in the annual statewide contest.
