The Northern Oklahoma College Madrigal Singers will be performing a short outdoor concert Sunday, Oct. 11 at 4 p.m. on the steps of the Crowder Science Building on the Tonkawa campus.
Ponca City Gospel Jubilee will feature Todd and Billie East, Saturday October 10th at 6:30 p.m. Blind since birth, Todd began playing piano and singing at the age of three. He began his professional career at the age of fifteen and has been performing ever since. East studied Classical and Romantic music styles and took lessons in Jazz at the prestigious Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. He studied music theory and performance in college at Nazareth eventually earning a Bachelor’s degree there. Billie has been singing Southern Gospel music all her life.
Mrs. Jeri Anderson and Mrs. Chris Jernigan wrote a grant to Dollar General this summer. The grant is for literacy support. Tonkawa Elementary is happy to announce that we received the grant for $4,000.00. This grant will help teachers purchase literacy items to be used in their classrooms. Thank you to Mrs. Anderson and Mrrs. Jernigan for completing the grant. A huge shoutout to Dollar General for promoting literacy and awarding our school a grant.
