If you’ve followed the last 5 weeks, we’ve walked through Psalm 27, a Psalm of David that guides the believer to “look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13).” Last week showed us why David could be certain of this. But why can we be? Why are sure that we will look upon the Lord in the land of the living? Why can we joyfully endure the dark, enemies, false witnesses, abandonment, and even death?

After a tough loss to Thomas in the 3rd round of playoffs, the Bucs football season has come to an end. The Bucs have had an amazing season, finishing with a record of 9-3. The boys have fought battles all year. They have persevered through multiple injuries and battled every week with the idea of a Covid exposure taking away the remainder of their season. If you went to any football game, you saw these boys leave it all out on the field. They played with so much heart that it would be very hard to say that you are not a proud Buccaneer fan. I will miss being on the sidelines under the Friday night lights with my Buccaneer brothers!

Washington, D.C. — Dr. Frankie Wood-Black of Northern Oklahoma College has been named a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Election as an AAAS Fellow is an honor bestowed upon AAAS members by their peers.

“In this historic election.” How many times have you heard this over the past two weeks? In truth, there are some historic elements. This election had the greatest number of votes cast in history. Is that historic or population growth? It’s also a higher voter percentage than we have seen in some time, but nowhere close to the highest. A woman on the winning ticket is most definitely historic, so much in fact that I am stumped on how to make a comparison. This past week most of the attention seems to be on Trump’s refusal to admit defeat. But that is not historic either. Many have called this the most important election in our lives, whereas, in fact, it is just the most recent.

NOC Northern Encounter set for Dec. 9

Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa will be hosting high school students for Northern Encounter Dec. 9 at the Renfro Center on the NOC Tonkawa campus.
