Statewide election activity officially begins at 8:00 am Wednesday, April 3, 2024, when the candidate filing period opens, the Secretary of the Kay County Election Board said today.Candidates for state offices file with the Secretary of the State Election Board. Candidates for county offices file with the Secretary of the County Election Board.Kay County Election Board Secretary Carol Leaming said the following offices are expected to filled this year: United States Representative, State Senator, State Representative, and Corporation Commissioner.Kay County Commissioner District #2, Kay County Clerk, Kay County Court Clerk, and Kay County Sheriff.Filing forms and information for county offices may be obtained by contacting the Kay County Election Board at 580 362 2130 or kaycounty@elections.ok. The Kay County Election Board is located at 219 S Main St Newkirk OK and is open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.Filing packets for all offices are also available for download on the State Election Board’s website at oklahoma.gov/elections The filing period closes at 5:00 pm Friday April 5, 2024.
