Hayes Brothers Band to perform at Full Moon Concert Wednesday, September 2

The “Hayes Brothers Band” will take the stage at the free outdoor Full Moon Concert, Wednesday, September 2 in Tonkawa Centennial Park, 301 East Grand in Tonkawa. The group performs music from the 1950’s through today including well-known pop, rock and country classics that are audience favorites. Band members are Clark Hayes on guitar and lead vocals, Kent Hayes on drums and lead vocals, Keke Johnson on Hammond organ and guitar, Stan Villines on bass, Steve Scott on keyboards, Jace Sober on guitar, and Eddie Holick on violin/fiddle and guitar.

Masonic Lodge partners with THS Alumni

The local Masonic Lodge partnered with the THS Alumni Association again this year for the annual Lucky Duck Derby held on July 4th. Roland Jones, Mason Master, presented a check to the THS Alumni Association for money matched from Masonic Charity Foundation. The local Masons helped get over 2000 ducks adopted this year. Proceeds go toward scholarships for THS Seniors to a college of their choice. Pioneer Tech begins classes

Pioneer Tech began classes on Thursday, the Biomedical Sciences Academy Program returned this year as a Full-Time Program for sophomores, juniors, and seniors and is under the instruction of Cara Bodick. Tonkawa Police arrest sex offender in Blinn Park

On Friday, Aug. 14 at approximately 1:03 a.m., Tonkawa Police Offi cers Cpl. Aaron Jones and Eric Daniel observed a person sleeping under the pavilion at Blinn Park, located in the 800 block of N. Main street in Tonkawa, OK. The offi cers wished to check the wellbeing of the person as sleeping in the park is a violation of City Ordinance. Upon making contact, the person was identifi ed as 28-Year Old Joseph Michael Morrell of Kansas.
