Tonkawa schools adjust protocols

When the State Covid-19 Map came out on Friday, November 13, it was not pretty. Fifty-five of the 77 counties reflected a red status. Level Red is achieved when a county has more than 50 cases per 100,000 population. The Oklahoma State Department of Education has published recommendations for all five color-coded levels of risks for Covid-19. Schools were mandated in August to adopt safety protocols for instruction, health, and activities. Plans were written as a working document and are subject to change depending on the data used in determining the color status of the county.

Northern concert band, college choir concert canceled

The Northern Oklahoma College Fine Arts Division has canceled the College Choir, Madrigal Singers, and Concert Band Concert set for NOC Tonkawa Nov. 19.

Kaw: November 9. Elevation 1 1/4 ft. above normal, water 50s and muddy. Blue and channel catfish good on cut bait, shad, stinkbait and worms below the dam, along flats and shallows. Crappie fair on jigs, minnows and tube jigs around brush structure, riprap and standing timber. Striped bass hybrids and white bass slow on crankbaits, lipless baits, live shad and sassy shad below the dam. Report submitted by Spencer Grace, game warden stationed in Kay County.

School board adopts new Indoor Activity Protocol

Tonkawa school board members Monday night adopted indoor activity protocol for wrestling and basketball seasons.

NOC Fall Musical postponed

The Northern Oklahoma College Division of Fine Arts presentation of the smash hit comedy musical, “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” has been postponed. The new tentative date is Jan. 21-24.
