Donate to weight room project

The Tonkawa Alumni Association is conducting a fund drive for the 2019 weight room project for Buccaneer athletics, president David Fruits said this week. Make checks payable to the Tonkawa Alumni Association, P.O. Box 12, Tonkawa, OK 74653.

IOOF Cemetery needs donations

The IOOF Cemetery is in need of donations to continue operation of the cemetery, Garry Davis announced this week. Brent Bailey is caretaker. Donations can be sent to P.O. Box 121 with checks made to the Tonkawa Cemetery for upkeep.

Caregivers support group in Tonkawa

The Kay County Caregivers support group meets from 4-6 p.m. the first Monday of every month at 118 S. Seventh, Tonkawa, across the street from the Tonkawa city offices. It is sponsored by long term care authority and the Area Agency of Aging. Anyone assisting with the care of a family member, friend or loved one is welcome to attend.

Hours at the McCarter Museum

The McCarter Museum is open Thursday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and Friday from 4-6 p.m. Other times for tours or visiting may be made by calling (580) 761-7576 or any of the numbers listed on the door. Visitors are always welcome.

Storm siren testing Monday

Every Monday at 1 p.m. the Tonkawa storm sirens will be tested.

GED classes are held on NOC campus

Adult Basic and High School Equivalency (Formerly GED) classes are being held at NOC Campus; Wednesdays 5 – 8 p.m. in Wilkin Hall Room 121. Call 580-718-4319 for more info.

Helping veterans...

A PTSD Support Group for veterans of all ages meets at the American Legion in Ponca City every second and fourth Wednesday at 6 p.m. Questions? Call Allen Teten at 580-716-3529.

Pioneer Tech resumes regular schedule of in-person classes Jan. 5

Pioneer Technology Center (PTC) will return to a regular schedule of in-person classes on January 5th when students return from the holiday break. Buses and classes will run as usual to the five partner districts of Blackwell, Newkirk, Ponca City, Tonkawa, and Woodland in Fairfax, Oklahoma.
