County assessor takes exemption until March 15

Due to Covid-19, the Kay County Assessor’s Office will no longer be going to the cities in Kay County for annual assessing, normally held in February of each year. Below is a brief description of the exemptions the Assessor offers. The deadline for filing an application to each exemption is March 15, 2021. For any additional information, contact the Assessor’s office.

New wind technician program at Northern

Northern Oklahoma College is partnering with Enel Green Power, Oklahoma’s second-largest wind operator, to establish a new wind turbine technician program, helping to meet the workforce needs of a growing industry in the state. To support students in the program and honor the memory of a colleague, Enel has also established a scholarship to enable students to pursue a wind energy career.

Friday final day to register for municipal elections

Friday, January 15, is the last day to apply for voter registration in order to be eligible to vote in the February 9, 2021, Ponca City Municipal and Blackwell Municipal Elections in Kay County, Election Board Secretary Cheryl Howard said today.
