Billings Chamber announces 2022 Citizen of the Year Award nominees

The Billings Community Chamber of Commerce will host the Billings 2022 Citizen of the Year Award Dinner Saturday, January 28th at the Billings Community Center beginning at 6:00 pm. We are excited to once again host the annual Award Dinner which has not been held since February 2020, due to the Pandemic.

Oak Ridge Boys tickets go on sale Jan. 19 at NOC

Tickets for the Grammy Award winning Oak Ridge Boys go on sale Thursday, Jan. 19 at 9 a.m. for the upcoming show on Feb. 16 at Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa. The Oak Ridge Boys are appearing as part of the Renfro Spring Lectureship Series. The 2023 Front Porch Singin’ Tour marks the 50th Anniversary of The Oak Ridge Boys. Tickets may be purchased on a first come, first served basis for the event beginning Thursday, Jan. 19 at 9 a.m.

Tonkawa Municipal Authority receives $2 million water system funding from OWRB

The Tonkawa Municipal Authority (Authority) received approval for $2,000,000 in funding Tuesday from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB) to improve the Authority’s water infrastructure. Construction of upgrades and improvements to the water system will be financed by the Oklahoma Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) where $1,000,000 will be in the form of loan forgiveness and another $600,000 provided through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).

County assessor is now accepting applications for tax exemptions

The Kay County Assessor is now accepting applications for exemptions and personal property renditions for 2023. All applications and personal property renditions are due March 15, 2023. Below is a brief description of each application and information regarding personal property. All applications and assessments will be accepted in the Kay County Assessor’s office from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Applications are also accepted by mail, fax or e-mail.
