Senior Karlee Jacobs was crowned queen of the 2023 Tonkawa basketball Homecoming.Braden Paker is captain. Members of the royal court include attendants Brooklyn day and Kaedyn Warrior, escorts Calvin Larson and Michael Page; flower girl Joelie Hembree and crownbearer Keagan Pratt.The coronation occurred before the games between Tonkawa and Woodland last Friday night. Both Buc teams posted victories. (See page 6) About members of the royal court: Brooklyn Day is the daughter of Jennifer Burns, Kevin Miller, and Josh Day. She is the granddaughter of Kim Burns and the late John Burns, Pat Miller and the late Eddie Miller and Hewetta and Aaron Wilson. She is the little sister to Carlee and Parker Miller, and Peyton and Kai Day. She has been a member of extended studies for 4 years, National Honor Society for 3 years and she is currently the Stu-Co Vice President. Brooklyn has played basketball and ran track for 4 years. Her favorite thing to do in her spare time is hangout with friends and family. Her plans after high school are to attend NOC and then apply to dental hygiene school.Calvin Larson is the son of David and Paige Larson. He is a member of National Honor Soceity. He has played basketball for 5 years. He has ran track for 5 years and was a state qualifier in 2021. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends. He plans to attend OSU after high school and get a degree in mechanical engineering.Karlee Jacobs is the daughter of Joe and Sheli Jacobs. She is the granddaughter of the late Adolf and Elsie Jacobs and the late Rudy and Gloria Simunek. She is the little sister to Baylee, Jackson, Sam, and Sydnee, the older sister to Nora. She has participated in basketball for 4 years and track 4 years. She’s been a member of the National Honor Society for 3 years. Karlee attends St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Tonkawa and Blackwell. Her favorite thing to do in her spare time is go to the gym and hang out with her friends.
