Tonkawa’s own Dennis Buss won the 2019 Amateur Ranch Sorting world Championship at Ron Noric Arena at the OKC fairgrounds recently. It is the Super Bowl of ranch sorting. His partner was Benji Lindsey of Austin, Arkansas. The pair also won third. They are pictured above with their wives (Valorie at left of Dennis and Mrs. Lindsey at right of Benji). They also finished third in the team competition. Winning horses were Smart Sassy Rey and Stars Hot Rey. There were 87 entries and their World Champion prizes included custom-designed gold trophy, courtesy of Lucas Oil World Show; awards recognition concepts sterling silver buckle with 14-karat-gold overlay, courtesy of Lucas Oil World Show, special designed logoed jacket and world champion patch courtesy of S+S Ranchwear; 100 pounds of Nutrena feed and a neck wreath.
