Six Tonkawa players -- all seniors on the 2018 Tonkawa Class A state championship team -- played Friday night in the Pawnee Bill
Memorial All-Star game at Pawnee.
All six -- Braydon Hampton, Simeon Shepherd, Dallin Hacker,
Jayden Myer, Cameron Grein and JB Burns -- played integral parts in the White team’s 38-6 win over the Blue Team which included players from Tulsa Booker T. Washington, Tulsa Union, Sand
Springs, Cushing, El Reno and others.
Most of the scoring was by Tonkawa with Hampton running for two touchdowns and throwing another to Myer.
Shepherd also ran for a touchdown.
Turnovers picked up by Tonkawa players included interceptions by Grein, Hampton and Myer.
Offensive and defensive line and special teams play by Hacker and Burns were stellar in the effort.
Hacker even played tight end on an extra point play. He also played running back, carrying the ball once like a “Refrigerator
Perry” play by the Chicago Bears years ago in a short yardage situation near the goal-line. Then on the next play he blocked for
Hampton from the running back position to get Hampton in for the stand-up TD run.
Players for the White team included those from Tonkawa, Hominy, Copan, Woodland, Allen, Newkirk, Hulbert, Stroud, Tecumseh, Okeene and Minco. Coaches were Casey Goad, eddie scott,
Chase Green and Caleb christian.
Players for the blue team included those from Booker T. Washington, Okemah, Blackwell, Perry, El Reno, Pawnee, Yale, tulsa
Union, bethel, Chandler, Charles Page of Sand Springs and Cushing. Coaches were Gregory Chaulk, Scott Patton and Thomas
Lott.
