Jadin Howard didn’t score any of Tonkawa’s 9 touchdowns in the Bucs’ 66-14 win over Blackwell Friday night.He didn’t carry the ball or catch a pass. Heck, he wasn’t even the leading tackier. But boy did he stand tall in a big way to help set the tone for the entire ballgame. Especially on defense! True, he didn’t score, but he did set up two of the touchdowns. The first came on the third TD of the evening for Tonkawa in the first quarter when he blocked a Blackwell punt and ran it to the Maroon two.Then in the second quarter, he raced across the field to catch up to the backside of the Maroon quarterback. His tackle was so jarring it changed the direction of the pass and it fell right into the breadbasket of tackle Dom Grein who raced the interception across the endzone from 30 yards out.The Bucs scored six times in the first half, three in each quarter. Quarterback Ryan Morgan hit the first of his three TD passes for touchdowns. This one went to Roman Chandler from 30 yards out. Blake Bristow ran the conversion and the Bucs were on their way with an 8-0 lead.Morgan then intercepted a Blackwell pass setting the Bucs up on their own 39. Seven plays later Cam Jackson ran in the TD from three yards away. In the drive, Jackson also had runs of 11 and 16 yards and Morgan hit Chandler for 14 in the 7 play drive covering all 61 yards.That’s when Howard’s heroics came in to play. On fourth down from their own 26, Howard blocked the would-be punt and ran it from the 15 to the two to set up a Blake Bristow two yard TD run. Chandler ran the two point conversion. The Bucs were up 22-0.Early in the second period, Jackson ran 30 yards and Bristow added the conversion for a 30-0 lead.
