Tonkawa baseballers fell behind early and never recovered in an 8-11 loss to Woodland Monday night. Brandon Alexander hit three singles and led the team in RBI’s with three as well. Chazz slavens had two hits. Dylan Hamilton, Blake Scott, Brady Hook and Jake Randall also singled. Hook had two RBI’s while Cameron Grein, Hamilton and Randall had one each. Alexander and Hamilton each had a stolen base.
The Bucs were down 11-3 going into the top of the fourth inning and managed to get five more runs before the game ended. Runs were scored by Parker Miller, Hamilton, Hook, Alexander, slavens, C.J. Ballard, Randall and Noah Campbell. Four different players drew mound duty. Kai Day pitched the first inning. Grein pitched the next 2.2 innings, Slavens 1.1 inning and two strikeouts and C.J. Bllard pitched the final inning, also striking out two. Tonkawa is 5-4 on the season so far and were to play at Glencoe Tuesday night. They will be back in Tonkawa for Thursday and Friday dates. The Bucs will host Alva Thursday and Newkirk Friday. Both games will start at 5 p.m.
