Buc Head Coach Mike Kirtley this week announced important dates for the 2022 football season.Boot camp July 25-August 5 8-9:30 Monday-Friday. All high school & mid high athletes are asked to be there.It is an outline of spring and summer activities leading up to the season opener at Newkirk Sept. 2.The dates follow:Spring football -- May 16-24.-- 48 attendedTeam camp at Crescent -- June 2-3.-- 40 attendedMike Kirtley football camp for grades 3-8 - June 6-10, 10 a.m. to noon -- 45 attendSummer Pride -- June 6 through July 1, Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6:45 a.m.; Mid high at 9 a.m. July 2-10 -- Dead Period.July 2-10 -- Dead Period.Summer Pride -- July 11-22, 6:45 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 6:45 a.m. and mid high at 9 a.m.Boot camp -- July 25 through Aug. 5, 8=9:30 a.m. Monday through Friday/Official football practice will begin Aug. 8 before the first day of school Aug. 22.The Tonkawa Bucs will remain in Class A two more years at least through the 2022 and 2023 football seasons, Athletic Director Kyle Simpson announced earlier.During the 2022 and 2023 seasons, Tonkawa will move to District A-5 which will include Pawnee, morrison, woodland, Hominy, Chouteau-Mazie, chelsea, OK Union and Tonkawa.Simpson also announced the 2022 asnd 2023 football schedules. The 2022 schedule follows:Friday, Sept. 2, at Newkirk; Friday, Sept. 9, Perry here; Friday, Sept. 16, Blackwell here; Friday, Sept. 23, at Chouteau; Friday, Sept. 30, at Pawnee; Friday, Oct. 7, at OK Union; thursday, Oct. 13, Morrison here; Friday, Oct. 21, at Hominy; Friday, Oct. 28, Chelsea home; Friday, Nov. 4, Woodland here. The schedule will reverse home and home for 2023.
