Football contest
Shelly Martin wins first and $10 in the Weekly Tonkawa News Football Contest.
Second and $7 goes to Chuck Neeley. Third prize money is split at $1.50 each to Dawn McGaha and Mike Smith.
Several entries missed just one game, so it came down to the tiebreaker. Martin was the closest, picking the Bucs to beat Blackwell 37-25. Tonkawa won 36-34. She was 10 points off the final score.
Neeley was 14 points off the final score, picking Tonkawa 40-24.
McGaha and smith both picked the Bucs 21-20 and both were 29 points off the final.
Others who missed only one on last week’s contest included Mark Martin and Dayna Sheets, but they were farther off on the tie-breaker.
Entries should be submitted to The News office at 126 E. Grand by noon Friday each week.
Prize money is $10 for first, $7 for second and $3 for third.
Winners will be announced in the following week’s edition.
Entrants are urged to circle a winner for each game and fill in the tie-breaker score. Be sure your name is on the entry.
