Tonkawa midhi football split a twinbill with Newkirk Monday night. The eighth grade lost 22-0 and is now 2-4 on the season. The seventh grade won their second in a row 28-0 and improved to 2-2 on the season.Both teams close out their regular seasons next Monday Oct. 17, with one game at Morrison at 6 p.m.Bly Freiouf intercepted a Tiger pass at the 1:39 mark of the fourth quarter but the offense fell short at the goal-line as time ran out.Asher Saludaris scored the first three seventh grade touchdowns, two from 58 yards out and another from 20. Carter Lopeman caught a Bodie Swords pass for the two point conversion on the first TD. Maddox Ewy caught a four yard pass for a touchdown with four seconds left in the game. Swords ran over the PAT conversion.Kiefer Standsblack covered two fumbles for the Bucs and Rustyn Mayo had an interception and fumble recovery. Saludaris also blocked a punt.
