WILBURTON, Oklahoma – Northern Oklahoma College swept Eastern in Region 2 Soccer Thursday at Wilburton.The #12 women’s team (9-1) won 4-2 while the #20 men (8-2) were 2-1 winners. Both teams are in first place in Region 2.Women 4, Eastern 2It was a tale of two halves in Wilburton on Thursday. Northern looked amazing in the first half controlling possession and scoring three goals, and lethargic in the second half getting outscored 2-1 in a 4-2 win.Jazmine Furra, Janet Moreno, Milica Bulatovic, and Marissa Neil each scored goals for the Mavs.Jamie Rowlands allowed two goals, stopping three shots.Bulatovic leads the Mavs with 16 goals.Men 2, Eastern 1Northern squeaked by Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton 2-1.Kareem Williams and Damorney Hutchinson scored goals for the Mavs. Hutchinson leads the Mavs with 18 goals on the season.Harry Archer allowed one goal saving four Eastern shots. The win improved the #20 Mavs to 8-2 on the year and lead Region 2 with a 6-0 record.“We needed to win today,” said coach Michael DuRoy. “Not only to stay at the top of the conference, but for our confidence.
