Northern Oklahoma College soccer swept NEO in Region 2 action Sunday in Tonkawa. The #16 Maverick men clinched the conference regular season title with a 7-1 win.The #15 women (13-3) improved to 11-3 in Region 2 with an 8-0 win. The #16 men (12-3-2) improved to 9-1-2 in Region 2 with the win.Mavs’ Men 7, NEO 1Jesus Aleman scored two goals while Marcovich Brown, Jaron Frye, Damorney Hutchinson, and Marko Madaras scored one goal each. Aleman and Hutchinson had one assist each.Leon Schmitter and Spencer Braswell combined in goal allowing one NEO goal.NOC outshot NEO 17-9.Mavs’ Women 8, NEO 0Samantha Mendez and Milica Bulatovic scored two goals each in an 8-0 rout of NEO.Janet Moreno, Nicole Anderson, Mia Yerian, and Taylor Phillips also had goals for the Mavs.Bulatovic had two assists while Moreno, Cory Torres, and Marissa Neil had one assist each.Jamie Rowlands and Jordan Webster combined in the net for NOC stopping three NEO shots.NOC closes the regular season on Thursday, the women host Murray State at 1 p.m. while the men host Bethany College.The NJCAA Region 2 Playoffs are Oct. 28-30 in Enid.
