The Northern Oklahoma College Mavs and Lady Mavs picked up conference wins Thursday night against Western.
The Lady Mavs (5-12) are 5-8 in the OCAC with an 81-75 win.
The 11th ranked Mavs (17-1) improved to 12-1 in the OCAC with the 92-57 win.
Lady Mavs 81, Western 75
Freshman guard Delaney Reimer led the Lady Mavs with 29 points while Celeste Moore and Gavriel Myers added 13. Chloe Brinlee added 12 for the Lady Mavs.
Brinlee led the Lady Mavs with eight rebounds while Mia Brown added seven assists and four steals.
The Lady Mavs jumped out to an early lead over Western and held on for the 81-75 win.
“We haven’t seen much zone defense this year, so their zone tonight demanded good ball movement,” said coach Greg Krause. “For the most part, we moved the ball well and got good shots. Occasionally we rushed a shot when more patience would have created a better look. Scoring 81 points is good production. We’re looking for that momentum to continue.”
The Mavs shot 39% from the field and 36% from 3-point range.
The Lady Mavs are at Connors on Saturday, tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
Mavs 92, Western 57
Avante Lederer led the Mavs with 17 while Tyrel Morgan had 16, and JD Ray added 14.
Morgan had 10 rebounds while Ray added six assists.
“Last night was a good team win,” said coach Donnie Jackson. “Everyone was involved and it was good to get some guys some minutes off the bench.”
The Mavs shot 48% from the floor holding Western to 39% shooting. NOC travels to Connors Saturday afternoon.

“We have a big two game road stretch coming up. Connors is a tough place to play. They have two of the top scorers in conference and one of the top freshmen. We will need to bring out ‘A-game’ if we want to have a chance in Warner.”
