CHICKASHA, Oklahoma -- The Northern Oklahoma College Mavericks swept Vernon (TX) in a pair of games at USAO in Chickasha on Monday.
In Game 1, the Mavs pounded 10 extra base hits in a 14-6 win over Vernon.
Jake Snider led the hit parade with a home run and two doubles with four runs batted in. Sam Shank added four hits including a double and triple. Hayden Priest added three hits for the Mavs.
Sean Klein and Geovanni Blackshaw had two hits each.
AJ Moore allowed two earned runs in three innings picking up the win on the mound.
In Game 2, the Mavs rallied from an early 3-0 deficit to beat Vernon 7-3.
Bryan Burgos had three hits and two runs batted in along with three stolen bases.
Hayden Priest added two hits while Sam Shank had two runs batted in.
Bryson Armstrong picked up the win in relief tossing 2.2 innings of scoreless relief.
The Mavs out hit Vernon 28-22 on the day, the Mavs made no errors in the doubleheader.
“Good day at the plate for several guys,” said coach Ryan Bay. “It was nice to see us get back to driving the ball to both sides of the field again.”
