Mavs and Lady Mavs found the road tough Thursday night, the 7th ranked Mavs falling to Murray 66-62 while the Lady Mavs lost to
Murray 92-67.
Murray 66, Mavs 62
The 7th ranked NOC Mavs led for 37 minutes but couldn’t hold on falling to Murray 66-62 in Tishomingo Thursday night.
NOC (17-2) fell to 3-2 in conference play while Murray (14-3) improved to 4-0 in league play.
JD Ray led the Mavs with 14 points while Demaree King added
12 and Barron Tanner 11.
Tyrel Morgan added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Mavs.
NOC shot 35 percent from the floor and 47 percent from the line making nine of 19 free throws.
Murray 92, Lady Mavs 67
The NOC Lady Mavs fell Thursday night to Murray State 92-67 in OCAC league play in Tishomingo.
The Lady Mavs (3-14) fell to 0-5 in league play while Murray
(9-9) improved to 1-3.
Freshman Radina Zhivachka led the Lady Mavs with 17 points while Cassie Manning had 12 points off the Lady Mavs bench.
“We scored 30 in the first quarter but we weren’t consistent enough on either end of the floor to win,” said coach Greg Krause. “We’ll look forward to being back home Monday against a tough Western team.”
Hannah Maples led the Lady Mavs on the boards with six while Carlee Murray had five assists.
