Tyrel Morgan led the Mavs with 13 points while Demaree King added 12. Morgan led the Mavs with seven rebounds.
“This loss stings,” said coach Donnie Jackson. “We had some good looks against their zone, we just couldn’t get them to fall. Our guys battled and never quit.”
NOC shot just 39 percent from the floor and 22 percent from 3-point range.
“It’s a big game against Enid on Thursday,” he said. “All of us are jockeying for position in the standings and we have to find a way to win this game. They are well coached and have played good ball the second semester.”
NEO 82, Lady Mavs 58
The Lady Mavs shot just 28 percent from the floor in an 82-58 loss to NEO. The Lady Mavs shot 28 percent from 3-point range.
Cassie Manning led the Lady Mavs with 19 points while Manning and Hannah Maples had seven rebounds each. Manning was four of six from 3-point range.
“We had some stretches of good play last night,” said coach Greg Krause. “I thought Cassie (Manning) had her best game of the year. She led the team with 19 points and seven rebounds. We had too many unforced errors. That on top of a low field goal percentage makes things tough. We’re still trying to establish some momentum coming down the stretch and preparing for playoffs.”
