The 3rd ranked NOC Mavs swept Des Moines Area Community College Friday afternoon at Mavs Field.
NOC (3-1) won the opener 10-3 and the nightcap 5-2. Game 1
The NOC Mavs scored early and often in Game 1 scoring eight runs in the first three innings and coasted to a 10-3 win.
Bryant Bailey and Scout Cawvey had two hits each and Geo Blackshaw had three runs batted in for NOC. Bailey also scored three runs for the Mavs.
Blake Hubbard started for the Mavs allowing three runs on four hits. Jackie Robinson tossed three hitless innings in relief.
Game 2
In Game 2, the Mavs again jumped out to an early lead taking a 4-0 edge and then held on for a 5-2 win.
Barrett Rose had two hits for the Mavs while Matthew Minyon scored two runs. Rose, Hayden Priest, Zach Goodwin, and Gatlin Goodson had rbi’s for NOC.
Zach Stephenson started for NOC allowing one hit over three innings. Kirby Lohrengal pitched the seventh inning to earn a save while Brysen Williams and David Carr also pitched in relief.
The Saturday doubleheader was canceled and rescheduled for Feb. 28. The Mavs also canceled their game Tuesday against Rose State. That game has been moved to March 9 at Rose State in Midwest City.
