Tonkawa’s Lady Bucs have extended their season at the Class 2A District Tournament with a win over Watonga and a loss to Fairview in the championship.
The loss to Fairview puts Tonkawa in the consolation bracket of the Class 2A Regional.
The Lady Bucs are 14-11 and will meet Mounds at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Ponca City.
If they lose, their season is over. Wtih a win, they would face the loser of Sayre-Amber Pocasset at 6:30 p.m. Friday, also at Ponca City.
The consolation championship will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Ponca City..
Next week’s Årea Tournament will be at Enid’s Stride Bank Arena.
The Buc boys fell to Fairview 45-80 and end their season at 3-21.
“It was a long and hard season,” Head Coach Peter Grein said this week, but “it should be better next year with a good eighth grade class moving up.”
