Northern Oklahoma College’s Demaree King and Mia Brown were named Student Athletes of the Week for Nov. 4.
King, a sophomore from Tulsa, averaged 22 points, five rebounds, five assists, one steal, and 45 percent (11 of 24) from 3-point range in two wins in the Allen Classic. “Demaree had an excellent weekend, said head coach Donnie Jackson. “He led us in scoring and made big plays when he was supposed to. He has had an excellent preseason and it carried over into the real games for us. He is someone that will need to be counted on consistently in order for us to play to the best of our abilities.” Brown is a sophomore from Mustang, she averaged 14 points per game and was 15 of 22 from the line in two games in the Allen Classic. “Mia made a traditional 3-point play on a hard drive to the basket and a free throw with less than 10 seconds in regulation, which led to a big overtime win at Allen County,” said coach Greg Krause. “She is doing a good job of leading the team with her aggressive style of play.”
