Northern Oklahoma College Maverick Demaree King signed with Jacksonville State last week.
King is a sophomore guard from Tulsa. He averaged 19.5 points and 4.7 assists in leading then Mavericks to a 28-4 record and a berth in the NJCAA National Tournament.
“I’m very proud of Demaree for his signing, he earned it,” Jackson said.
“From walk-on to All-American and then to a Division I scholarship,” Jackson added. “I couldn’t be happier and more excited for him.”
“They lose all their guards so they need immediate impact,” Jackson said of Jacksonville State. “I think it’s a great fit for both.”
King was recently named a 3rd Team NJCAA All-American.
