Tonkawa put together a complete game both offensively and defensively, handing Class 2A Perry a 59-6 wallopping Friday night.The Bucs left little doubt about the outcome when their first offensive play of the night resulted in an electrifying 53 yard run for a touchdown by senior Cam Jackson. Then for good measure, he also ran for the two point conversion putting Tonkawa up 8-0. Jackson was on his way to a 176 yard rushing performance on 14 carries.Step up the defense.Perry managed but two rushing first downs all night, one in each half of the game. The biggest culprit -- Dominic Grein, who seemingly controlled the line of scrimmage.Grein led the team in tackles with 19, many of them singlehanded.Tonkawa went up 16-0 on a 57 yard drive in 5 plays late in the first quarter. Junior Ryan Morgan hit Tyler Looper in the endzone with a 27 yard pass with 1:15 left in the first period. Roman Chandler ran the conversion.The final first half Buc TD -- and the one that likely broke the backs of the Maroons was set up by a Jackson punt, which pinned Perry at their own two. Punting from their own 7, their punt only went 18 yards and Tonkawa was in business at the Perry 25. A first down blocking penalty put the Bucs back on the 40. Jackson picked up 35 of the yardage needed, then Chandler ran it in from five yards out with 54 seconds left in the first half.Following halftime, Tonkawa wasted little time getting back on the scoreboard.It just took four plays from 58 yards away. Morgan’s hand was heating up and he once again caught Looper for 25 yards in the endzone. Jackson made the first of three PAT kicks as Tonkawa would score three times in the third quarter.Morgan then hit Chandler on a 41 yard pass play with 4:36 left in the quarter, the eighth play in a 74 yard march that included passes from Morgan to Jackson for 13 yards and Chandler for 7 and 8 yards.The final TD of the third period came on a 29 yard pass play from Morgan to fullback Luke Shepherd for 29 yards.
