Ryan Morgan passed for two touchdowns and Clayton Lopeman ran for two as the Tonkawa Bucs got their District A-5 title run under way with a 27-0 win over Chouteau Friday night.The Wildcats took the opening kickoff and marched all the way to the Buc 22. On fourth and 3 from there, Dominic Grein wrapped up their quarterback for a six yard loss.From that point on it was all about the Tonkawa defense and Buc scoring. The Bucs returned the favor, going 72 yards in 12 plays with the help of pass plays from Ryan Morgan to Cayden Duvall for 20 yards and to Westyn Freeman for 17 yards. Clayton Lopeman got the score, diving into the endzone from ten yards out. Alexander Fink added the PAT kick. And the Bucs were up 7-0.Head Coach Mike Kirtley was so impressed with the defense he named the entire defensive starting 11 as this week’s Players of the Week. (See page 7) Peyten Keith covered a fumble from the Wildcats near midfield. On first down, Morgan hit Duvall for all 52 yards. Fink’s PAT kick made it 14-0.Late in the second quarter Westyn Freeman intercepted, but Chouteau returned the favor and the Bucs went to halftime leading 14-0.To open the third period, Tonkawa got the kickoff covered at the 39. Ten plays later, Morgan hit Freeman for 8 yards and the touchdown. In the drive that covered 61 yards, Peyten Keith had a ten yard run. Morgan had runs of 10, 17 and 9 yards.Behind 0-20, Chouteau took the ensuing kickoff at their own 25 and got all the way to the Buc 18 before turning it back over at the 23, where an offensive procedure penalty set them back five yards.The Bucs covered all 77 yards, chewing up 5:52 of the game lock, most all in the fourth quarter. Lopeman scored from a yard out with 6:33 left in the game on the 13th play. In the drive, Duvall ran for 21, Morgan ran for 12 and passed to Duvall for 10 and 17 yards. A 32 yard run by Morgan for a touchdown was called back due to an illegal block.Leading runners for the Bucs were Morgan with 116 yards on 12 carries.
