The Comets managed to get to the 15. That’s where Dominic Grein caused and covered a fumble to end the Hinton effort. Luke Shepherd, Noah Campbell and Dalton Pierce were in on key tackles on earlier downs.The Bucs then scored twice in a row.Kai Day scored on a dazzling 33 yard end around, the fourth play of an 80 yard drive, set up in part by a 29 yard run by tailback Cam Jackson.Brendan Ochoa kicked the PAT. He also had punts of 49 and 48 yards that were critical to the Buc defense.Day set up the next Buc score with a 39 yard pass from quarterback Ryan Morgan. Jackson scored from a yard out with 8:27 still left in the first half and just two minutes after the first Buc TD. Day ran the conversion given the Bucs a 15-0 lead.Hinton cut the lead to 7-15 with a couple of razzle-dazzle passes of their own, one for 44 and the scoring pass on a 21 yarder.Tonkawa quickly returned the favor. Jackson put Tonkawa back up 21-7 with a two yard TD run. The 69 yard, six play drive included runs by the junior tailback of 41 and 31 yards and a pass from Morgan to tight end Campbell for 11 yards. The PAT run failed.Hinton was not able to move the ball at all on the ground.
