Tonkawa scored 28 points in the second half -- 14 in each quarter -- to beat Chelsea 34-0 in a crucial District A-5 ball game.The final regular season game for the Bucs comes this Friday at second place Woodland, another must-win game for Tonkawa if they want to make the playoffs this year.Tonkawa’s defense played superb once again. Chelsea was able to get to the Buc 23 and 35 and that would be as deep as they would penetrate the entire game.The Bucs led 6-0 at halftime. The big break in the first half came when Hayden Grell dropped the Green Dragon quarterback for a 13 yard loss back at their own 4 yard line.Chelsea followed that up with a 19 yard punt, setting the Bucs up at the Green Dragon 23. On first down, quarterback Ryan Morgan hit Cayden Duvall for a touchdown from 23 yards out. The PAT kick was blocked.It would be the first of three touchdown passes for Morgan, who was sizzling accurate all night. He would finish the game 10 of 12 passing for 257 yards, The two teams traded punts in the opening minutes of the third quarter. Clayton Lopeman would score the first of two touchdowns, this one from one yard out on the sixth play of a 56 yard drive. Two big pass plays would set the Bucs up in scoring position. Morgan hit Loudyn Alexander for 41 yards and Lopeman for ten more.The PAT pass failed, but the Bucs led 12-0. Tonkawa went up 20-0 after Duvall intercepted a Chelsea pass and set the Bucs up at the Green Dragon 28. Four plays later, Lopeman scored from seven yards out. Then Morgan hit Lopeman for the PAT pass to put the Bucs in command.Senior tight end Dominic Grein put Tonkawa up 27-0 when he caught an 18 yard scoring pass early in the fourth quarter. It was Grein’s first TD of the season. It was the sixth play of a 79 yard drive. The TD was set up by a Morgan to Grein pass covering 47 yards, a thing of beauty as he caught Grein down the middle with a perfectly thrown ball.
