Buc Head Coach Mike Kirtley this week announced important dates for the 2022 football season.Official football practice began Monday, Aug. 8 before the first day of school Aug. 22.The final pre-season scrimmage will be at Chisholm Thursday, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. The midhi teams will scrimmage at 6 p.m. on both ends of the field, then the high school will take over.Meet the players and coaches will be noon-2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, at the high school cafeteria. A taco bar will be available at a cost of $7 per person, sponsored by the Quarterback Club.The Bucs will open their 2022 season at Newkirk, Friday, Sept. 2.RosterThose out for football include the following: Seniors -- Cam Jackson, Roman Chandler, Blake Bristow, Tyler Looper, Riley Coy, Braden Paker, Jaidyn Guzman, Jadin Howard.Juniors -- Dom Grein, Isaiah Lively, Derek Strong, Luke Shepherd, Peyton Keith, Dalton Pierce, ryan Morgan and Jeffrey Lieb.Sophomores -- Hayden Grell, rush Brown, Clayton Lopeman, Joey Howard. Freshmen -- Gavin Ward, Kaydon Morrill, Cale Denton, connor deWitt, Brody Reed, Brett shepherd, Jax Thompson, Rustyn Mayo, Kylee Freeman, Nate Strong, Lucas Keith, Eli Pappan, westyn Freeman, Cayden duvall, Tate Coffey, Matthew gottman, Jadin Zimmerman, Koby stokesberry, Colbey Milligan and Haziel Hernandez.The Tonkawa Bucs will remain in Class A two more years at least through the 2022 and 2023 football seasons, Athletic Director Kyle Simpson announced earlier.2022 and 2023 Season SchedulesDuring the 2022 and 2023 seasons, Tonkawa will move to District A-5 which will include Pawnee, morrison, woodland, Hominy, Chouteau-Mazie, chelsea, OK Union and Tonkawa.The 2022 and 2023 football schedules are also set. The schedule will reverse home and home for 2023.
