Tonkawa Buc baseballers picked up their first win of the young season vs. Alva. This makes the Bucs 1-6 on the season so far. Tonkawa will host Pawnee here Thursday at 4:30 p.m. and Newkirk here Friday at 5 p.m. The Bucs were to host Hominy Tuesday night. The 10-9 come-from-behind win was set up by a Brett Shepherd double in the bottom of the eighth inning that scored two runs and gave Tonkawa its victory in extra innings.The Bucs had 19 hits with Kylan Lieb hitting three doubles in the game as well as Shepherd, Landon Strong and Westyn Freeman.Strong scored three runs, Lieb and Kell Wiley each scored two runs while Ryan Morgan, Cayden Duvall and Shepherd each scored once.Shepherd, Strong and Wiley each had two stolen bases Duvall had one. Shepherd and Kyle Dollarhide each had two RBI’s, while Freeman, Strong and Lieb each had one.Ryan Morgan was on the mound the first seven innings, striking out 11.
