Alexander, Hook all-conference
Tonkawa’s 2019 baseball season came to an end Monday at Christian Heritage in a 5-9 loss to the
Crusaders.
Two senior baseballers have been selected to the Northwest Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Asociation all-conference team, Head Coach Brady Holland announced Tuesday. Brady Hook and Brandon
Alexander will be in the all-conference game at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at Northwestern State
University’s Ranger Field in Alva.
The Bucs end the year with 22 wins and 9 losses.

Down 2-9 going into the top of the final seventh inning, the Bucs scored three runs off a homerun by Blake Scott and a double by Brady Hook before bowing out of the regionals. Because the Crusaders had beaten the Bucs 1-0 last Thusday, they needed just one more win to claim the Class 2A regional title. Friday and Saturday games were rained out.
The Bucs managed to knot the score 1-1 in the top of the third inning, but the Crusaders scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to put the game out of reach.
Hook led in RBI’s with two while Scott had one. Alexander, Dylan Hamilton and Jake Randall each had stolen bases.
Runs were scored by Scott, alexander, Hook, Cameron Grein and Noah Campbell.
Hamilton pitched the first five innings, striking out six. Hook pitched one, striking out one.
Tonkawa had beaten Crescent 12-6 in an earlier game Monday.

Brady Hook and Blake Scott each homered in a 12-6 win over Crescent in the Class 2A regional at Christian Heritage Monday afternoon.
Scott also added a triple and pitcher Brandon Alexander doubled.
Hook led in RBI’s with four. Scott, Parker Miller and Jake Randall each had two while Chazz
Slavens got the other.
Randall also stole two bases and Dylan Hamilton one.
Miller, slavens, and Cameron Grein each scored two runs while Scott, Hook, Hamilton, Kai Day,
Randall and Noah Campbell each had one.
Alexander pitched all seven inings, striking out 12.

Grein got the lone hit in the 0-1 loss to Christian Heritage last Thursday. The Bucs were led on the mound by Alexander, who pitched five innings, striking out two. Hamilton pitched the final two innings, striking out one.

Tonkawa got the opening win over Ketchum in the Class 2A regional last Thursday afternoon.
Miller and Scott singled for the lone hits of the game. The lone run was scored by Miller.
Hamilton had one stolen base.
