Tonkawa’s 8th grade football team won its third straight, a 33-0 shellacking of Blackwell Monday night.
The sixth and seventh graders, on the other hand, lost their third straight, 0-24 to Blackwell’s seventh grade. Haziel Hernandez got the lone Buc turnover, an interception.
Both Buc teams host Pawnee next Monday, Sept. 30, with sixth and seventh graders playing at 5 p.m. followed by the eighth graders at 6 p.m.
Peyton Keith ran for a 35 yard touchdown to get the scoring under way for the eighth graders. With Ryan Morgan’s PAT run, Tonkawa was up 8-0,
Tonkawa added a 40 yard touchdown run by Morgan to increase their lead 14-0 after two quarters.
Morgan scored from 10 yards away late in the second quarter and led 20-0 at intermission.
Morgan also had an interception in the second quarter.
Dominie Grein covered a fumble and a few plays later Keith scored from the ten yard line to give the Bucs a 26-0 lead with 3:39 left in the third period.
The final touchdown came on a two yard run by Derrick strong with two minutes left in the game. Morgan booted the extra point and finalized the 33-0 Blackwell advantage.
