NEOSHO, Missouri -- The #17 ranked Maverick women’s soccer team easily defeated Crowder College on Tuesday 4-0.The Mavs are now 9-2-2 on the season, they travel to NEO on Sunday.Luana San Miguel, Chloe Wilkins, Josie Jarvis, and Jazmine Furra scored for the Mavs while the Mavs’ defense didn’t allow a shot on goal.“I was pleased with our girls’ ability to not get frustrated when playing a bunkering defense and not converting on scoring chances,” said coach Michael DuRoy. “That showed their maturity. We have a veteran group of players that like having the ball anyway so if teams are going to sit back and let us play, we are happy to do that. We knew it was only a matter of time before one would go in and that is all it would take to win the game. When teams play that style of game, putting everything they have into defending, it is very deflating to give up a goal. That is why we usually score goals in bunches after the first one goes in.”
