Have you heard the term social-emotional learning (SEL)? In recent months SEL has become a buzz word among educators and parents. Join us for an informative parent workshop to learn more about what SEL is and how to support positive social and emotional development in your children at home.During this one hour workshop, we will unpack the five components of social-emotional learning, why it is important as a parent to understand this, and what you can do at home to support the socialemotional well-being of your students. There will be a time for Q & A.The workshop presenter is Sam Drazin with Changing Perspectives. Changing Perspectives is a national non-profit organization which partners with schools to promote social-emotional learning. Sam is a former elementary educator and current Executive Director. Sam has presented nationally at hundreds of schools, conferences, and other educational institutions on issues of social-emotional learning, equity, and inclusion.This workshop is open to all parents/guardians of students at Tonkawa Elementary, Tonkawa Middle School, and Tonkawa High School. The event will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, September 13, at the Event Center.A door prize drawing will be held for a $100 gift card for the HUB. Please plan to attend!
