After months of anxiously awaiting the opening of the Tonkawa Public School’s newest addition, the cafeteria is finished. While the scheduled open house has been postponed to due the inclement weather conditions, the students and faculty have been able to enjoy it since coming back from winter break. The schools will update the community when they are ready to reschedule the open house.Because of the finishing of the new addition, drop-offs will look a little different at Tonkawa Public Schools. All Tonkawa Elementary students will continue to enter through the front south doors. The school will have a number of staff prepared for the new breakfast procedures and to help students along the way. The students will put their backpacks away and have the option to either go to the gym or go to breakfast. Breakfast will be held from 7:30 to 7:55 each morning. The Mid-High and High School breakfast dropoffs will be between the Events Center and the Football field. This development is extremely positive for the school and, therefore, the community. While the public is not able to see the work done yet, this will hopefully be available soon. Until then, the faculty and students will have the opportunity to get used to their new cafeteria.
