The Tonkawa Public Library concluded it’s 2022 Summer Reading Program on Wednesday (7.27.22) with a Pool & Pizza Party at the new Tonkawa Aquatic Center.The 2022 Summer Reading theme was Oceans of Possibilities. Programs offered by the Library this summer included ‘Magical Mermaids’ performing a circus show, ‘Extreme Animals’ bringing the zoo to us with several exotic animals on offer, as well as ‘Noah’s Ark,’ building our own teddy bears and coloring them with tie dye as well as making matching tie dye t-shirts. We also held large prize drawings after each program filled with toys, books, and gift certificates. These were all made possible by the generous donations the library received from local businesses.Three Kindle Fire tablets were also up for grabs in a drawing held at the Pool & Pizza Party. Throughout the summer, readers had the opportunity to earn a chance to win one of the three tablets by reading books. For each book the children read and recorded on their Reading Log, participants received one drawing entry for their age category. The winners of the drawings are pictured below.The library would like to acknowledge our top readers of the summer.
