Hammand, Thursday night at the council meeting at city hall.Hammand said the city is experiencing difficulty in keeping enough water on hand due to a breakdown of one of the main pumps in the well system and dry conditions present a serious fire danger. The past couple of years city dads have given the okay for citizens to shoot off fireworks at Blinn Park, under the watchful care of city firemen. This year some of the councilmen had been contacted by telephone to see if they would go along with using the park again for shooting fireworks and understood it was the Jaycees who made the request.
