DeMolays Initiate 33 in City Chapter
Thirty-three members were initiated in ceremonies here Sunday as the Tonkawa DeMolay chapter was reinstituted for the first time in nearly two years.
Approximately 200 guests attended the services held in the Masonic Temple. The initiatory and DeMolay degrees were conferred by state champion teams from Siloam chapter in Oklahoma City and Delta chapter of Tulsa,
Neal Johnson, Guthrie, grand warden of the state Blue lodge, delivered the principal address and John Trumbla, Stillwater, gave the flower talk. Tulsa’s Delta chapter installed Tonkawa officers.
Installed as master councilor was Jack Querry. Jimmy Noles is the senior councilor and Elgin Edwards, junior councilor.
Other officers installed were Kenneth McIlvain, marshal; Eddie
Manley, senior deacon; Jack Klopp, junior deacon; Max Porter, senior steward; Don Witter, junior steward; James Taylor, orator;
Darrel Carpenter, scribe; Bill Campbell, treasurer; Bob Porter, sentinel; Larry Bray, chaplain; Don Rose, standard bearer; John Barn-hart, first preceptor; Jerry Legg, second preceptor; Leon Cooper, third preceptor; Randy Glasgow, fourth preceptor; Freddie Sipe, fifth preceptor; Milton Kreger, sixth preceptor, and Bobby Pledger, seventh preceptor.
The advisory council for the local chapter includes Everett
Fitzgerald, chairman; Brian Conaghan, chapter dad; Roy Martin, assistant chapter dad; Howard Legg, Leon Vassar, Paul Moore,

Local Bowler Moves to Top in State Meet
Tonkawa keglers were among the leaders in singles and doubles of the men’s state bowling tournament today as a result of weekend action on the lanes at Oklahoma City.
R. L. Crowder took the lead in B class singles with a torrid 657 handicap score, a virtual cinch to put him in the money and a good chance of holding up for the championship.
In addition, Tonkawa had another man in third place in singles and doubles team in fourth place in class B. Jack Danielson hit a 639 handicap series for third place in singles and then teamed with Lee Gorman for a 1,130 to take fourth place in the doubles standings.
