How often do you water your plants? I have to admit, sometimes I forget and the plants start to really droop. Can you imagine how it would feel to be that plant? Depending solely on someone to take care of it? Not having any say so on when and how often you get a drink. I kinda look at myself that way… How well do I take care of myself? I forget, sometimes, that I am solely dependent on God and His guidance more than I could ever admit. But, sometimes I get in a rut and forget to pray and talk to God. It’s amazing how much better I feel after I have a quiet time with God. It’s kinda like being the plants I just talked about….finally getting water. The difference is that I have choice in the matter. I get dry, and complain and get frustrated…when all the time God is waiting to water me. All I have to do is ask. That rut was caused by putting many other things in place of what is important. God. And the worst of it is, it’s my own fault. Quiet time alone with God is the healthiest thing I can do…His water goes much deeper than any other fix in my life. The scripture says in Matthew 7:7
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
How often I need to remember…He is just waiting to give me His living water.
