Tonkawa school board members met in special session Monday night to set the date for the first installment of the new cafeteria bonds.Board members Nancy Appleman, Brian Bowling, Tyler Langston and Jerry Hook (Casey McAninch was absent) adopted a resolution authorizing sale of the first $625,000 of the total $12,925,000 bond issue at noon Tuesday, Sept. 27.The new cafeteria bond issue was approved at the runoff primary election Tuesday, Aug. 23, by a vote of 345 yes and 127 no. At the Church of Christ polling location in Tonkawa, the vote was 158-61 in favor. At the Methodist Church, it passed by a 168-59 margin.In their only other action, the board approved general fund purchase orders for salaries for the new school year, totalling $5,081,691.93.
